techne & Eros 2001
For over a decade, media artists Steina and Woody Vasulka, sound artist David Dunn, and physicist James Crutchfield have been engaged in a dialog that explores essential conceptual issues regarding the interaction between art and science. This dialog led to the formation of the Art and Science Laboratory. Joined by Laboratory members Victoria N. Alexander, Gene Youngblood, and Bruce Hamilton, they will conduct a six-night seminar at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe. The evenings will include examples and discussion of electronic art history, science and art, new media technology, and complexity theory and pattern formation.
